Examinations are an essential part of education. Exams play an integral role in helping to access the understanding, skill, adaptation, and assimilation of the students. It helps to check whether the student’s academic journeys are moving on the right path.
While the popular notion that examinations are not a proper test of knowledge might be arguable, it is undeniable that exams are the best form of assessing the academic skills of a student. Examinations help us to review performance regarding activities carried out in the course of the previous or ongoing academic session.
After exams, when students have seen their results, excellent grades are a pointer that the student is doing what needs to be done correctly and should keep at it, fair or poor grades are an indicator that the student needs to make adjustments in certain areas.
Exam Prayers for Students
Success without God’s blessings is a facade (John 3:27) and for all who desire an extra-stellar result after diligently spending weeks preparing for an exam, it is also wise to commune with God in prayer committing all to His able hand.
There are enormous reasons why believers should not trust in their intelligence and capabilities alone when preparing to write an exam.
There are times when you have done your due diligence and the devil wants to raise its ugly head by making you forget some of what you read, or put in your unnecessary fear or anxiety (exam phobia). We have created this exam prayer guide and some scriptures to pray.
1. Lord Jesus, I appreciate You for the opportunity to learn and grow. Thank you for all the successes that you have granted in the past exams. My heart is filled with gratitude, because I know, that by Your strong will, this coming exam will again be a testimony for me.
2. Lord, I pray to receive the support of my family, friends, and loved ones at this time, so they that they will be a source of encouragement. And also to create a positive study environment for my exam preparation.
3. Father, Your word says in the book of James 1 verse 5 that “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God” . Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom and knowledge that surpass the understanding that I already have. Amen.
4 Lord Jesus, I ask today that you bestow on me a consistent measure of wisdom and understanding not just for my academic success but for all-around success. Amen.
Father I prauy that you enlightened my mind with Your knowledge and grant me the needed guidance to navigate any difficulty as I go to write my examination. Amen.
5. In the book of Daniel, the bible noted that Daniel had an excellent spirit, the true source of the spirit of excellence in Daniel can be attributed to His love for constant fellowshipping with the Father at the place of Prayer, little wonder the Bible says Daniel on his knees prayed thrice daily.
Prayer: Lord, help me to maintain my constant fellowship with You even as I prepare for this coming exam, Let the antennas of my prayer and meditational life be sharper in Jesus’ name, Amen.
