Proverbs 3:24: “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.”
Have you been having strange dreams and nightmares, are you now afraid of the night hours due to the terrible things you see in your dreams? Have you tried getting rid of these dreams in your own way yet they keep coming? The promise of God to you is “he giveth his beloved sleep” -Psalm 127:2
As God’s child, it is your redemptive right to have a peaceful and perfect sleep, if anything will be interfering with your sleep, it should be a revelation or dream from God concerning your present or future, any other dream that does not belong to this category is going against the promise of God for your life, and the bible gives us an instruction concerning everything that exalts itself against the knowledge or promise of God for our lives, it says we must bring them down (2 Corinthians 10:5)
You will be punishing the disobedience of the devil in your life because truly the initiator of those dreams is the devil and it is in direct opposite with the promise of God for your life, therefore it is disobedience and you must punish it according to scriptures (2 Corinthians 10:3-6), how do you punish this disobedience?
It is by praying fervently, but first, you must ensure that your obedience is complete, the bible instructs us to study the Word of God till we are transformed by it (Romans 12:2), and it also instructs us to pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:17) how committed are you to praying, fasting and studying the Word of God? If you have fallen short in these areas, then you must repent of your sins, before proceeding to the prayers against bad dreams,
The Scripture says while men slept the enemy came to sow tares into his wheat, (Matthew 13:25) spiritual slumber oftentimes gives the enemy access into one’s life to afflict it, and one of the ways the devil can rob a man of his peace and blessings is through the projection of negative dreams and nightmares, as you recommit your self to fasting, studying the Word and saying these prayers against bad dreams, may the Lord arise for you speedily to fight your battles in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
