The period around when a person goes into surgery is usually a time of worry, anxiety, and discomfort for them and their loved ones, hence, all the love and prayers are required to help us get through the trying times.
There are different kinds of surgeries, some are extensive, risky, and tend to last for about 10-20 hours, examples are surgeries on a body organ. Other surgeries on the other hand are routine, involve less risk, and often last 3 hours or less, for example, dental surgeries.
Regardless of which it is, all surgeries come with varying levels of stress. If you are about to undergo surgery, or a loved one is going to be operated on, it is normal to be worried about them, especially for fear of possible complications. What then can you do to ease these moments? PRAY.
The hours before surgery usually feel endless, and we feel empty and afraid, this is a time when speaking to God helps to take the burden off our hearts. Praying when going for surgery gives us the courage to get through the operation in faith, and complete trust in the power of God. The scripture says in the book of Matthew chapter 9 vs 29, “According to your faith, let it be done to you.” NIV

1. The book of James chapter 5 verse 6 gives us a strong reason to pray in times like this and that’s because the “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

6. Lord Jesus, is there any form of unforgiveness, anger, or resentment found in me, I ask for a supernatural cleaning busy the Blood of Christ in Jesus’ name.
7. Awesome God, I pray that you exemplify Your mightiness as God, as I attempt this surgical procedure.
8. Lord, I pray that the surgery will correct, repair, rebuild, and reform all things intended by the doctors as touching my perfect health.
9. Dear Lord, I commit the process of the surgery from start to finish to your able hands, I pray that every plan of the enemy to compromise or complicate the process be thwarted in Jesus name.
10. Lord Jesus, I trust you for the confidence, strength, and grace as I prepare for this surgery.
11. Dear Lord, I pray that all fear, anxiety, and worry that may be stirred by the enemy of my soul be bound, amen.
