Murmuring and grumbling when in a state of unhappiness and unbearable circumstances do not make way for answers from the Lord nor does cry pity to the Lord in prayer. In fact the book of Malachi chapter 2 verse 13 terms it as an act that is unpleasing to God. “And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.”
Some take it as a habit to come before the Lord in weeping, Imagine a child who wants to request his parents, and each tines he needs to do that, he often starts with weeping; God is displeased with such a slaved habit and style of making our request known unto him.
Some people even go to the extent of speaking against the Church and the people of God, which displeases God so much! We should be able to come boldly to the throne of Grace, asking Him to meet every need in our lives without murmuring.
A recount of the murmur of Aaron and Miriam against Moses
Those who walk by Faith and can pray never grumble, they bring all their problems to God other than men and leaders of the Church. They are not always looking for other people to solve their problems for them.
Even though Moses was younger than Moses and Miriam he didn’t chide them, when we grumble against the Leadership God is all hears! Thank God for the prayer of Moses that delivered them both from their murmuring business.
God is still blessing His faithful ones, and we should not be part of the murmurings of those who do not have a clear understanding of What God is doing on their behalf. We should not be people who belittle, complain, and exploit loopholes in the mistakes of others.
Numbers 12:1: – “Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.”
Numbers 12:2: – “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this.”
Numbers 12:4-5: – “At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, ‘Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.’ So the three of them went out.”
Numbers 12:8: -“With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”
Numbers 12:9: – “The anger of the Lord burned against them, and he left them.”
Numbers 12:10: – “When the cloud lifted from above the tent, Miriam’s skin was leprous—it became as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease.”
Numbers 12:11: – “And Aaron said to Moses, ‘Oh, my lord, please do not hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed.’”
Numbers 12:12: – “Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother’s womb with its flesh half eaten away.”
Numbers 12:13: – “So Moses cried out to the Lord, ‘Please, God, heal her!’”
Numbers 12:14: – “The Lord replied to Moses, ‘If her father had spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp for seven days; after that she can be brought back.’”
Numbers 12:15: – “So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.”
Numbers 12:16: – “After that, the people left Hazeroth and encamped in the Desert of Paran.”
Bible Verses on Murmuring and grumbling
There should always be an excitement of working and serving the Lord, no grumbling, no bitterness, if at any point we notice otherwise, it is expedient that we go back to God asking for forgiveness for restoration.
The Lord expects us to come out of the murmuring of the mixed multitude.
When we pray and trust God for the baptismal power, we will experience the same measure of power and blessings needed to carry us through till the very end of the world.
The same outpouring of the spirit measure as seen in leaders like Moses, will not just come, it will come when we work with the same purpose, with the consecration and commitment such as they have.
If we are going to the same labor, results, and work as the seventy with Moses, then there is a requirement to have the same commitment and reliance on the Heavenly Father. There will be an alignment of purpose and plan with the leadership so that there will be uniformity and pushing the mandate in the same direction and unison.

2. Numbers 14:2: -“All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, ‘If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!’”
